Hi, I’m Emma…

I’m a Melbourne-based Wellbeing, Life and Career Coach and a big believer in taking action, learning and expanding life. I think you can enjoy more happiness. I believe you can grow your confidence in areas that matter. And I know you can develop your creative or professional passions and feel deeply satisfied.

I love to inspire and empower people to expand their sense of self. I’ve done this myself and know how incredible it feels. I deeply understand the importance of identity, meaning and connection. For many years, I felt dissatisfied with how these elements appeared in my own life. They weren’t strong; they weren’t clear. I wasn’t inspired in the way I longed to be. I knew I wanted to uncover my strengths, expand my interests and elevate my life. I just wasn’t sure how. But, with lots and lots of little steps (and an explorer’s spirit), I discovered my passion – Coaching. And then I developed it over several years. I retrained, changed career and started a business. During this journey, I returned to study, developed skills, ignited my creativity, expanded my social world, faced new challenges and felt new highs. And it all began with the tiniest of steps… a phone call to gather some information.

I love books and movies and often find inspiration in the words of Audrey Hepburn, “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'!” And Emily Dickinson, “I dwell in possibility.” I’m naturally empathetic, practical and a great listener; as well as The Big Sister (the oldest of four siblings: three sisters and an outnumbered brother). I’m passionate about using my strengths, experience, and professional knowledge and skills to inspire and empower people to enhance their wellbeing, increase their confidence and develop their creative and professional passions.

With over 20 years’ experience in the workforce…

With over 20 years’ experience in the workforce, working for different businesses in communications and client services roles, I have a good understanding of today’s workplace. I’m a qualified Life Coach through Beautiful You Coaching Academy (ICF certified training). I have a postgraduate qualification in Positive Psychology from The University of Melbourne, and have completed positive psychology courses through Berkeley and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. (Positive psychology is the science of human flourishing.) I also have an Arts degree that let me explore the most interesting subject – people! – through Sociology and Cinema Studies.

I was a committee member of the Positive Psychology Interest Group at The University of Melbourne for several years. The group explores the research and application of the science of human flourishing and hosts events and workshops featuring leading experts.

Webinar and workshop topics I cover, include: positive psychology at work and at home, as well as various personal and professional development topics. Clients include: Circle In, Local Land Services (NSW Government), Where There's A Will (Not For Profit) and IEEE Women In Engineering.

As a writer, I contribute articles about ways to enhance work, life and relationships. My articles have featured on WellBeing online, Flying Solo and various websites. Media appearances include radio (ABC Upper Hunter and Power FM) as well as news websites and newspapers.

I consider myself a wellbeing and personal development ‘Librarian’ because of my scope of knowledge and continued learning in these areas.
